Therapeutic Relationship

The relationship between client and therapist creates a unique opportunity to explore your experience in a safe, designated space and time. There is no other relationship quite like this. The first goal of our time together is to establish trust; this is the groundwork from which all other work will spring. I care deeply about the relationships I establish as a therapist. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing someone break free from the wounds of their past or pain of their early relationships and experiences, to uncover their goals and to look at themselves and the world in a new way.

Scheduling

It is important to meet regularly, so that we can build and maintain a therapeutic relationship based on trust. This ensures that we keep momentum in your work, so that you can get the most out of it. Most clients meet with me once per week for a 50-minute session, although it is not uncommon to schedule more frequently.

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Please note that if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you are responsible for 100% of the session fee. The fee will be waived if we are able to reschedule our session during the same week. This accommodation is dependent on availability. Please contact me to discuss scheduling and availability.

Walk and Talk Therapy

For most clients, the privacy and comfort of my office is the perfect setting for counseling. For others, an office setting might not feel like the right place to talk. Walk and Talk Therapy is a unique form of therapy that combines gentle physical exercise with individual psychotherapy. Walking in a park setting is a great way of reducing stress and allowing time for mindfulness. The bilateral movement of walking during therapy can be considered a form of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy). Read more about Walk and Talk Therapy here. Contact me to discuss if Walk and Talk Therapy is right for you.
